Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 November 2026Xoviq Labs · MockNerve

This policy explains how MockNerve (“the app”), published by Xoviq Labs (“we”, “us”), handles information. We designed MockNerve to keep your data on your device. We do not run servers that collect your study data, and we do not sell your data. The app does not send any information to us.

At a glance

A short summary. The full text below is what applies.

1. Data stored on your device

The app stores your exams, questions, attempts, notes, study files, settings and progress locally on your device (in a local database and app storage). This data is not sent to us.

2. Optional Google sign-in and Drive backup

If you choose to use cloud backup, you sign in with Google. The app requests these scopes:

  • userinfo.email and userinfo.profile – to show the Google account that is connected (name, email, profile picture).
  • drive.appdata – to create, read, update and delete backup files in a hidden application-data folder in your Google Drive. This folder is private to MockNerve. The app cannot access any of your other Drive files, and other apps cannot see this folder.

How we use Google user data:

  • Backups (your exams, notes and study files) are uploaded directly from your device to your own Google Drive and downloaded directly back when you restore. They do not pass through any server operated by us.
  • Sign-in tokens are stored on your device in encrypted secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) and are used only to communicate with Google on your behalf.
  • We do not receive, store, sell, share or transfer your Google user data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising or to train AI models.

MockNerve’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect at any time in the app, and revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. You can delete backups by removing MockNerve’s app data from Google Drive (Drive → Settings → Manage apps).

3. Optional AI features (Google Gemini)

If you add your own Gemini API key, the app sends the text or images you choose to process (for example, question text or a photographed page) directly from your device to Google’s Gemini API. Your API key is stored on your device in secure storage and is never sent to us. Google’s handling of that content is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Gemini API terms. AI features are off unless you add a key.

4. Device permissions

  • Camera and photos – to capture or select question paper pages. Used only when you choose to.
  • Microphone and speech recognition – to dictate notes. Speech may be processed by your device’s speech recognition service (Apple or Google) according to their policies.
  • Files – to import or export exam packs and study materials.
  • Network – used only for the optional Google features above.
  • Background tasks – to run automatic backups, only if you enable cloud backup.

5. Analytics

MockNerve does not collect analytics or usage data. It does not track which screens you open, and it does not include advertising or analytics services. We do not collect personal information such as your name or email address, and we do not show advertising.

6. Sharing

Exam packs are shared only when you export them and send them yourself. We do not share your data with third parties, except as needed to provide the features you turn on (Google Drive for backup, Google Gemini for AI).

7. Retention and deletion

Local data stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Drive backups stay in your Drive until you delete them or revoke the app’s access. Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot recover it for you.

8. Children

MockNerve is intended for students and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because data stays on the device, no personal information from children is sent to us. Users under the age required in their country should use the Google features only with a parent or guardian.

9. Security

We use secure on-device storage for credentials and HTTPS for all network requests. No method is perfectly secure, so please keep your device protected.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version, and material changes will be noted in the app or on this page.
